Celebrating originality
The annual Independent Music + Art Festival and INDIEana Handicraft Exchange will be noon to 8 p.m. June 16 in the courtyard of the Harrison Center.
The festival will feature two stages for continuous music. Rusty Redenbacher will emcee during the music portion of the event. Featured performers include Asante Children’s Choir, The Yellow Kites, Mariah Ivey & TribesouL, The Dopacetics, Jack Droppers and the Good Intentions, Davey Asaph, Sarah Grain & the Billions of Stars, Legacy of Triumph, Dream Chief and Joshua Powell & the Great Train Robbery.
Riverside reunites
The 10th annual Riverside Reunion will be 1-7 p.m. June 16 at the Riverside Family Center.
Mayor Joe Hogsett and Congressman André Carson will make appearances. Two bands will perform and former grade school teachers from the 1960s and 1970s will attend as well.
Hacking with a purpose
The 2018 Indy Civic Hack will be 5:30 p.m. June 15 to 5:30 p.m. June 16 at Launch Indy, 525 S. Meridian St. and is open to all coders, developers and designers. Indy Civic Hack devotes 24 hours to developing technology to address a public need and transparency. This year Indy Civic Hack addresses food insecurity among the more than 170,000 Marion County residents who lack access to balanced food options.
Indy Civic Hack is a partnership between the City of Indianapolis, Indy Chamber, TechPoint and Open Indy Brigade. Registration is free and signup is available on eventbrite.com
A dinner in Midtown
Savor Midtown, a new event for diners to taste the best restaurants in Broad Ripple and southern Broad Ripple have to offer, runs through June 24. The three-course meal is specially priced for Savor Midtown. Participating restaurants include Ambrosia Restaurant, Binkley’s Kitchen, Delicia, Diavola, The Jazz Kitchen, Meridian Restaurant & Bar, Moe and Johnny’s, The NOOK by Northside, The Northside Social, Open Society Public House, Ramen Ray, and The Vanguard. Hump Day fun
The Eiteljorg Museum’s Summer Under the Sails Concert Series is back for a fourth season. Bands perform at 6 p.m. every Wednesday in June, July and on Aug 1. The museum is open until 8 p.m., with free admission into the building starting at 5 p.m. A cash bar and snacks are available. Event will move inside in case of rain.
