Indianapolis residents are never without a festive option around town for the holidays. Christmas lights stream through downtown streets, the Soldiers and Sailors Monument is dressed with lights, and now there is a play to add to the holiday spirit.
National artists and the Tindley High School show choir are putting on a production of “The Soul of Christmas,” a play featuring classic holiday songs that will take viewers to a scene with family and friends on Christmas Eve.
“The Soul of Christmas” is a cabaret-style production, which incorporates different entertainment styles such as music, dance and drama. Song genre varieties include jazz, pop, traditional, inspirational and gospel. The play will feature favorite holiday songs such as “Silent Night,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Mary Did You Know” and “Little Drummer Boy.”
Along with the Tindley show choir, under the direction of Kim Kenny, national artists including Valarie Phelps from the Owl Music Group, Lamar Campbell and jazz saxophonist Rob Dixon will join in the production.
