Indiana All-Star Game
The 2018 Indiana-Kentucky All-Star Basketball games will be held in June.
The Indiana All-Stars vs. Kentucky Junior All-Stars competition starts with the girls’ game at 2 p.m. June 3 at Ben Davis High School. The boys’ game will follow. Cost is $6 at the door.
The Junior-Senior All-State girls’ game starts at 6 p.m. June 6 at New Albany High School. The boys will play afterward. Tickets are $6 at the door.
Indiana vs. Kentucky girls’ game begins at 5 p.m. June 9 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The boys’ game will follow. Tickets are $100, $22, $18 and $7.
Author awards and gala
Go On Girl! Book Club will host its 26th Annual Author Awards Dinner Gala at 5 p.m. June 2 at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, downtown.
Indianapolis native Delores Thornton will receive the 2017 Local Literary Legend award for her significant contributions to the literary community in support of other writers as well as the advancement of book publishing by authors from the African Diaspora. Donna Lucas-Stokes is the featured book vendor at the event and Judge Tanya Walton Pratt is master of ceremonies.
A young writer’s workshop will be noon to 2 p.m. and an author meet and greet will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Finding a true family
Catch a performance of “Annie” at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre. The story of a little orphan named Annie has charmed hearts for decades. Of course, the performance will include “Tomorrow,” ‘Hard Knock Life” and “Maybe.”

Visit Indy Parks this summer to beat the heat. Spray grounds and pools are open at locations throughout the city.
