‘Brand’ New

More by this author

You may be OK with the car you currently have, but you could be missing out on something brand new. What better way to get ideas for a new ride than viewing more than 30 car brands, makes and models all under one roof.

Well, youā€™re in luck because your car searching can begin at the 100th annual Indianapolis Auto Show.

The exhibition, which is the second-longest running auto show in the country, will be at the Indiana Convention Center Dec. 26 through Jan. 1, 2014. Admission is $7 for adults and children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.

Thirty-nine automobile manufacturers from around the world will showcase their 2014 model automobiles, SUVs, light duty trucks and luxury vans.

ā€œThis yearā€™s 100th show has so much to offer. The manufacturers are optimistic and the consumer gets to see why they are so excited,ā€ said Bruce Heath, president of the Indianapolis Automobile Trade Association.

Although visitors will be able to speak with automotive product specialists about the vehicles, the auto show isnā€™t a large showroom. Visitors can see cars with cool upgrades and participate in games, prizes, promotions and giveaways such as a chance to win a 2014 Toyota Highlander. Most importantly people will have an interactive experience when driving many of the featured vehicles.

State Farm Insurance welcomes 2014 Indy Auto Show attendees to the State Farm Garage, a fully interactive auto show experience built for those who love cars. The garage features two full-body driving experiences, a free photo booth, an over-sized smartphone and a chance to win tablets, gift cards or a Bluetooth stereo.

People are invited to experience the Hyundai Blue Link kiosk that is an interactive demonstration designed to gain an intimate, hands-on look at Hyundaiā€™s in-vehicle telematics system. Through Blue Link, users can ā€œconnect, navigate and discover,ā€ watching fun videos, or take a deeper look into the 30-plus features. The carmaker says Blue Link is a must-have addition to the Hyundai driving experience.

Attendees at the Hyundai space can also find out more about the carmakerā€™s Hope on Wheels program, which raises awareness of childhood cancer.

Subaru of America, Inc. will debut the Subaru ā€œLegacy Conceptā€ at this yearā€™s auto show. The new ā€œLegacy Conceptā€ celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Subaru Legacy and provides a look into future Legacy models.

While many car manufacturers will have significant exhibitions, itā€™s arguable that auto show attendees will be wowed by what Jeep has to offer.

The Jeep brand is bringing Camp Jeep, the ā€œultimateā€ off-road indoor driving test to consumers. A popular destination inside the Indiana Convention Center, Camp Jeep is a five-minute off-road experience that is said to thrill passengers as professional 4Ɨ4 drivers teach participants how to drive safely on off-road terrain.

Highlighting the capabilities of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee, riders will ascend 18-feet off the ground as they sit atop the thrilling 14-foot high, 35-degree iconic Jeep Mountain. Camp Jeep also includes a 12Ɨ25 section of terrain simulating fallen logs, and a 30-degree wedge to demonstrate the vehicleā€™s body articulation. The test track gives passengers the chance to experience the emotional rush of extreme off-roading.

ā€œWe have created this unique auto show opportunity to provide our customers with a memorable experience that no other manufacturer can offer,ā€ said Mike Manley, president and CEO of Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. ā€œThe iconic Jeep brand offers an adventurous lifestyle and vehicles that deliver legendary 4×4 capability. Attendees will enjoy the Jeep experience first-hand on the show floor.ā€

Although many attendees of the Indianapolis Auto Show come to get a good idea about vehicles to purchase in the future, thereā€™s so much to offer at this yearā€™s centennial auto show that customers simply wanting to peruse the selection or those who enjoy envisioning themselves driving a luxury vehicle or hitting high speeds in a muscle car will have a wonderful time.

ā€œWeā€™ve utilized every inch of the space to make the most of your visit. Come out and spend some time at the 2014 Indy Auto Show. We know you wonā€™t be disappointed,ā€ said Heath.
