Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) named Kristian Little Stricklen as the new chief communications and engagement officer, effective March 1.
Stricklen, previously interim public information officer, has more than 20 years of communications experience. She joined IPS in 2017 as public information director and was promoted to interim public information officer in 2018.
Stricklen will continue to oversee marketing and communications for the district as well as media relations and corporate communications. She also will supervise the new Family and Community Engagement department, which will focus on school and community engagement.
Stricklen is the founder of Jacob’s Ladder, an autism initiative in honor of her son, and is a member of Public Relations Society of America and Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, Class XLII.
