Midwest Fashion Week recently hosted their annual Spring Runway show, which showcased 13 designers including Binta Sagale Diallo, originally of West Africa; Elan Furs, located in Indianapolis and Chicago; apparel from Richard Hallmarq of Project Runway season 11; and Berny Martin’s “Catou” collection.

While solid colored suits are always en vogue, you can add some personality to your style by choosing a theme color to stand out from the traditional dark blue, black and gray ensembles.

They may argue horizontal stripes aren’t flattering to all body types, but who said you couldn’t play around with vertical stripes for a bold new look?

Two-piece apparel is now in style, and these ensembles can be worn without the worry of showing too much skin. Make sure your bottoms are high enough to cover the navel and your top touches the waist.
