The Circle City Chapter of The Links Inc. will host its 17th annual Jazz Brunch and Fundraiser at the Indiana Roof Ballroom on June 1 beginning at 11 a.m. Doors open at 10 a.m.
Five people will be honored for their work and service to the community at the brunch. Honorees are:
- Gregg Ellis, director of Guardian Ad Litem for Marion County Child Advocates.
- Shaun Hawkins, vice president of Lilly New Ventures.
- Marcus Robinson, chancellor and CEO of EdPower.
- William Rasdell, artist and founder of My City My World.
- Marvin White, vice president and chief financial officer, St. Vincent’s Health.
Tickets are $65 per person. The event includes a brunch buffet, entertainment by the Bill Lancton Quartet and The Griot Storyteller and Drum Ensemble and a seasonal shopping experience.
Proceeds will benefit service programs of the Circle City Chapter of The Links. Some of these programs include the Asante Children’s Theatre, Coburn Place, Celebration of the Arts, Scholarships in the Arts, and other programs.
The Links celebrates more than 65 years as a women’s volunteer service organization committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the cultural and economic survival of persons of African ancestry. It is an international service organization with more than 12,000 members in 276 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
With more than 2 million service hours recorded in the past three years, members regularly contribute more than 500,000 documented service hours in their respective communities annually.
The Links Foundation Inc., the philanthropic arm of The Links, has made more than $25 million in charitable contributions since its founding.
