A full service jet spa tub, silky linens and manicurists are just what one needs after a long and hectic day. To unwind with a cup of tea along with the sweet aroma of a fresh cucumber facial mask is the peak of relaxation, but none of these items are for adults, they’re set in an immersed pink and purple girl’s paradise.
Pink Party Palace novelty spa, for children only, specializes in spa parties, custom themed parties, Disney princess parties and much more. It is a place where adults are welcome to bring any girl age 3 and up to let their hair down and pamper themselves.
Owner, Ruby Martin said the first Pink Party Palace opened in Lexington, Ky. by her grandson. With a high demand since December of last year, the business decided to expand to Indianapolis, where Martin has lived for 24 years. When reflecting on her childhood she said, “We went to charm school, learned how to set the table, had tea parties, we did things like this, but usually at home because there wasn’t a place to go. When you take your child to the nail shop, you’ve got the chemical smell of the nail polish and here we are all non-toxic, odorless and vegan,” said Martin who is especially particular about wellness as a cancer survivor.
Martin agreed to franchise under one condition – she was able to buy the property instead of leasing. The purpose in this allows the business to service children with disabilities as well. She said the activities done at the novelty spa help young girls appreciate themselves.
“Parents have a hard time taking their children out,” said Martin who has worked with children who have disabilities for several years. “People stare and make them feel uncomfortable. Even a trip to the nail salon for them is difficult and that was where my heart was and still is.”
A variety of nine different parties like the “Pajama Party” and the “Paint-Me-Pink Party” can provide each girl with enough activity for up to 20 of her friends. Adults can also choose between other specialty packages such as the “1-on-1 Auntie and Niece” spa package or the “1-on-1 Daddy and Daughter” spa package.
Party activities can include foot massages, group photography, mini facials, kid-friendly makeup, manicures, pedicures, karaoke, choreographed zumba routines and fashion runway walks in glamorous gowns. Most bookings also supply invitations, pink punch, pizza, paper ware, linen, cake, decorations and limo rides depending on one’s preference.
Pink Party Palace can also accommodate young boys through themed parties like “Race the Night Away,” “Lego Legend,” and “Boys Night Out.” Here they get the chance to create their own canvas art, novelty tattoos and race remote control cars.
“People ask if I think about offering walk-ins and I said no,” said Martin. “I want it to remain booking and private so that the parents and the kids will have the ultimate experience when they come,” Martin said. This way she can customize her parties to fit the needs of the client.
The spa’s grand opening, a few weeks ago, serviced 26 girls and has had a number of bookings and parties since. Adults can save 10 percent on their first party booked before the end of the year.
“The girls got to dress up and walk down the runway, they had a great time,” said Martin. “And the parents love it too, they just sit here and relax.”
